This year as well, startups from Serbia have the opportunity to present themselves to the global audience and investors at the international investment gathering and startup contest AIM 2023 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from May 8 till 10.

The participation of startups from Serbia will be enabled by the Science-Technology Park of Belgrade (STP Belgrade), in cooperation with Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), a leading investment platform in the Middle East, which will gather the world’s leading representatives of capital, investors and entrepreneurs this year in the UAE as well, the STP Belgrade announced.

Applications for the local AIM Startup 2023 contest, at which up to three startups from Serbia will be selected, are open until February 20 at the link available on the STP Belgrade website.

The local winner will directly advance to the global final of the AIM Startup 2023 contest, whereas the other two startups will get the opportunity to take part in the pitch contest and compete to qualify for the big final.

Startups eligible for the local contest are those with up to 50 employees, with a majority Serbian ownership, which, in their development so far, have collected financing in the amount of at least EUR 50,000 and are not older than 10 years.

The rating criteria are: team experience and expertise, market and business model, results achieved so far and plans, the pitch deck and the significance of participation in the AIM event to a further development of the startup.

The 12th edition of AIM is held this year, and last year, it gathered representatives from 174 countries, over 400 exhibitors and nearly 12,000 visitors, and it included the presentation of five representatives of the Serbian startup ecosystem, which drew a lot of interest from the audience and the investors, the press release says.
