German market chain Lidl is going to open a supermarket in Belgrade on the land lot it has bought from the Delta company, Politika reports.

This location in Vojislava Ilica Street used to belong to the Metal company that was later taken over by Delta, and it was supposed to be the construction site for Delta's Maxi supermarket. As Politika reports, Lidl also negotiates the acquisition of other locations with Miroslav Miskovic's company.

As eKapija reported earlier, people at Lidl do not want to disclose the exact locations of their future facilities, but they told our web portal that they had already secured land in Belgrade, Valjevo, Subotica, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Nis, and Smederevo.

Some municipalities are already equipping land lots for Lidl's arrival. For example, the City Development Institute of Novi Sad invited bids on October 17th for the preparation of final designs for the lighting system in Vojvode Stepe Boulevard for the purpose of equipping the Lidl's facility.
