Valjevska Arena construction starts - EUR 10 million sports arena to be completed by 2015

Construction of one of the most important sports facilities in Valjevo - new sports arena, started few days ago and should be completed by 2015. This 13,000 sqm arena will have 5,000 seats for spectators. The city earmarked RSD 28 million for this project in the 2012 budget, whereas another RSD 90 million are earmarked for the same purpose in the city budget for 2013, the local media have reported.

The contractor for the first phase of works is Ingrapomni. This company submitted a bid worth RSD 28 million, inclusive of VAT. The next tender, for the next phase of works, will be announced in January 2013.

- All required documents for this project have already been collected, and I really expect this sports arena to be ready for matches as early as in 2014 or 2015 - said Director of the Valjevo Town Planning Directorate Dragan Jeremic.

The first phase of works includes the construction of foundations.

- In addition to about 1,000 cubic meters of concrete required for that purpose, 88 tonnes of construction iron will also be built in the foundations - said Aleksandar Lazarevic from the Directorate.

The future sports arena is also known as Valjevska Arena.
