A land situated about three kilometers away from Nikola Tesla Airport and some four or five kilometers away from New Belgrade, fenced off with canals Galovica and Surcinac, is an ideal place to build a large sports complex, Darko Selakovic, owner of that land, says to eKapija.
Milinkovic Company has prepared a preliminary design for a tennis complex modeled after those abroad - 38 outdoor courts and a central court with a large number of seats, eight indoor courts connected with each other via the central cupola, appropriate accommodation facilities with accompanying amenities, as well as internal traffic infrastructure with enough parking places and green areas. The complex would span an area of about 10 hectares (cca 800 x 130m).
The owner of Milinkovic Company, Milenko Milinkovic, points out that what they had in mind when defining the preliminary design is that the complex should serve minimum two purposes, that is, it should serve as a competition and practice facility, adding that future investor's instructions and wishes will give that complex its final look.
- Due to the construction of an arm of Corridor XI on the left bank of the Sava River, on the New Belgrade-Obrenovac section, which will be financed with the proceeds of a loan approved by Exim bank, as well as due to the existing infrastructure, our location becomes extremely attractive to investors - Darko Selakovic stresses.
For that reason, as Selakovic explains, his company Business Plus has agreed to present this idea to the general public through an agreement on business cooperation with Milenko Milinkovic's company.
- It is clear to us that such project can be implemented only by an extraordinary investor, and our first pick is the No. 1 tennis player in the world - Novak Djokovic, or maybe the Tennis Association of Serbia. If they express an interest in this idea, we will come to an agreement and Belgrade will get a sports complex that cannot be found elsewhere in this part of Europe - Selakovic points out.
If this project fails to draw the attention of prospective investors, our interlocutors are already working on a preliminary design for a fun park in the same location, which will be finished within the next few weeks and exclusively presented at eKapija with the aim of finding potential investors.
