Raiffeisen Banka opens new EUR 40 million head office building in New Belgrade

After eleven years of successful business activities in Serbia, Raiffeisen Banka opened its new head office building, the first in its ownership in Serbia, thereby showing a clear committment to continue developing its business activities in this market, the Bank said in a release on Thursday.

The new head office building is situated at a very attractive business location – in Block 66a in New Belgrade, the new financial center of the city. Located between the Airport City complex and the Belville neighborhood, this seven-floor business building is in the vicinity of the future main ring road, that is, the new bridge that connects that part of the city with Ada Ciganlija. The total area of the building is 18,370 square meters, with around 1,000 employees.

Apart from the bank's business segments, the building will also house the subsidiaries Raiffeisen Leasing, Raiffeisen Rent, Raiffeisen Future, Raiffeisen Invest and Raiffeisen Investment. The value of this investment exceeds EUR 40 million.

All in one place for better market position

By constructing the new head office building in Serbia’s capital city, Raiffeisen Banka wishes to unite all its administrative and supporting business segments, hoping to create a good basis for the continuation and further development of its business activities in Serbia.

Apart from the bank's business segments, the building will also house subsidiaries Raiffeisen Leasing, Raiffeisen Rent, Raiffeisen Future, Raiffeisen Invest and Raiffeisen Investment.

- A decision to build a head office building was made with the aim of positioning the bank even better, as a preparation for further development of business activities. This investment shows a clear signal that the Serbian market remains a very important and interesting one, and that it certainly is worth of long-term investments - said Oliver Roegl, chairman of the Managing Board of Raiffeisen Banka.

The business building, the main constructor of which is a local company, has been designed as a modern business space, in accordance with current architectural trends. Raiffeisen Banka and Raiffeisen Property Management from Vienna, which run this project, hired Vienna-based KUB bureau, that is, architect Andreas Bremhorst, to draw preliminary designs for the building. A partner in the work on final designs was the project bureau Beging from Belgrade, whereas the company Mace was in charge of the supervision and management of construction works.

- Raiffeisen International has many business buildings within its network spanning 17 markets. Therefore, this building was also designed in line with the standards of the Raiffeisen Group. It is, actually, modelled after the Bank's business buildings in Vienna, Prague, Sarajevo, Sofia... – Nenad Sibinovic, member of the Executive Board of Raiffeisen Banka, told eKapija in 2010, when the work on this building kicked off.

According to the release on its website, Raiffeisen banka also accentuated environmental protection, so that in designing the installation systems, the principles of energy efficiency were incorporated by using state-of-the-art renewable energy systems and by optimizing the technical parameters for air venting and conditioning.

The modern architecture of the building and the top quality of construction, coupled with the compliance with the principles of ecological protection, will certainly contribute to the further development of visual identity of this part of the city, reads the release.
