Delta Maxi group has announced that it will open the first Tempo hypermarket in Bulgaria in Sofia on Thursday, December 2.
A total of 20 million euros have been invested in the construction and equipping of the hypermarket that will be open 24 hours a day and offer consumers over 60,000 articles.
The Tempo hypermarket in the center of Sofia occupies the surface of 30,000 square meters and it is the largest facility within Picadilly retail network, as well as the largest hypermarket in Bulgaria.
Delta Maxi, which bought Bulgaria's second largest market chain Picadilly in 2007 and, thus, entered the EU market, has invested 120 million euros in retail trade development in Bulgarian market over the last three years.
Today Picadilly comprises 40 retail facilities in 11 cities and the opening of ten new retail facilities worth 20 million euros is in the pipeline for the next year.
The opening ceremony in Sofia will be attended by the prime ministers of Serbia and Bulgaria, Mirko Cvetkovic and Boiko Borisov, Sofia Mayor Jordanka Fondakova, and Delta Holding President Miroslav Miskovic.
