Marera Properties, which has recently bought the Beogradjanka building, is negotiating about the purchase of the BIGZ building, located in Vojvode Misica Blvd.

According to Politika’s today’s issue, Marera Properties should purchase another symbol of the capital of Serbia, whose majority owner is Petar Matic, in early 2021 for EUR 50 million.

As the daily reports, Marera is to reconstruct the former building of one of the biggest publishers in former Yugoslavia and turn it into rentable office space.

According to the newspaper’s findings, years of search for a new purchaser of BIGZ could thereby end. This classic, but neglected, work of modern architecture was initially the building of the State Pressing Plant, raised before WW2.

Politika’s source says that the reconstruction of the BIGS building, which has 40,000 square meters, would begin in the summer of the next year and be completed in 18 months.

The building in Vojvode Misica Blvd must keep its authentic look, because it is a work of the great architect Dragisa Brasovan and is registered as a cultural good.
