Novi Sad offers investors 14 available parcels at total starting price of 5m EUR

Novi Sad's City Development Institute (ZIG) announced on Friday (February 19, 2010) that the investors would be offered 14 available parcels at total starting price of 5m EUR.

The Director of the Institute, Borislav Novaković, said at the presentation of available locations that, in accordance with the Law on Planning and Construction, the transformation of the rights to use of land into the city's property had been done for all parcels, so that the investors would be able to buy them.

Novaković said that the available locations were intended for construction of business, commercial and residential facilities and that the first two auctions would be held on March 9 and 15 in ZIG's premises.

- The most interesting is the parcel at 1.8 ha near the Kać cloverleaf interchange, in the vicinity of Horgoš-Belgrade highway, where the construction of a business facility is planned. We expect it to draw a big attention of investors because the lot is situated in the vicinity of existing business facilities and it has complete public utility infrastructure - said Novaković.

He added that very interesting was also the parcel in Bajči Žilinskog Street, at total surface of 4,800 square meters, because it was situated near main route Zrenjanin-Novi Sad and it was surrounded by big number of shopping centers.

- The assistance of the City and the Province is necessary for successful realization of the announced auctions. The institutions that are in contact with foreign investors should do everything they can to enable them to recognize the interest in investing in Novi Sad - said the Director of ZIG.

The Director of the Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund (VIP Fund), Branislav Bugarski, said that the structure of available locations was very good, which was the reason why VIP Fund would include them in its database.

Bugarski said that foreign investors were currently most interested in building quality office space, production units and facilities for development of IT sector in Novi Sad.

The presentation was also attended by the high officials of the Novi Sad's Fair, the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina and the Regional Chamber of Commerce Novi Sad, who announced that they would recommend the available locations in Novi Sad to the investors they were in contact with.
