- Draft decision on sale and rental of building land and draft decision on criteria for determination of fee for organization of building land, which will be discussed at the meeting of the City Assembly of Novi Sad on Friday (November 27, 2009), will introduce revolutionary changes in the city land management - Marijan Petrović, the Assistant to the Manager of Legal Affairs in the City Development Institute, told "Dnevnik".
Bringing these two decisions in accord with the Law on Planning and Construction will lead to conversion of the right to use of the land into the right to ownership of the land.
- We will keep renting the land for facilities with shorter period of amortization such as sports fields or warehouses, while the other land will be sold and become private property. The city has already submitted appeal for all public building land to be turned into the property of Novi Sad – said Petrović.
He said that the whole process should not raise the price of building land.
- The renters of the land that has already been built will become the land owners within the next year, either at their request or automatically, and no additional fee will have to be paid if the lease period is longer than 50 years - said Petrović.
