It's been over a year since the Israeli company
BKA Development bought the former Depo location at 142 Kralja Aleksandra Blvd in Belgrade, where the shopping center burned down in 2014,
for EUR 4.15 million.
Israeli investors,
Yossi Avrahami and
Almogim Holdings, which are already building a facility in the former US Embassy location in Kneza Milosa Street, are behind BKA Development.
Since the sale, there has been very little talk about the investors' plans. Still, at the initiative of BKA Development, a Detailed Regulation Plan of the block between Kralja Aleksandra Blvd and Sindjeliceva, Niska and Sredacka streets was prepared. According to it, mixed-purpose facilities are planned in this location. The plan is up for public review until February 11.
The area encompassed by the DRP is around 1.16 hectares and should feature residential and office facilities of up to seven floors (including the ground floor) along Kralja Aleksandra Blvd, as well as residential facilities of six floors (including the ground floor and the loft) along Niska Street.
The plan entails the increase of the number of apartments in this zone from 175 to 403, and the number of residents from 512 to 1,100.
The number of employees will increase from 60 to 256.
