Belgrade plans ban on sale of facilities in the process of legalization

Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic said that the City of Belgrade had filed a request to the Republic Geodetic Authority for the registration of the annotation on the ban of transactions pertaining to illegal facilities in the territory of the city of Belgrade.

– This is in line with the Law on the Amendments to the Law on the Legalization of Facilities, which obligates all local self-governments to register annotations within six months of the law's coming into effect, which was in early November – Vesic said, as reported by Beoinfo.

He added that the city registered annotations on 256,589 illegal facilities.

– The City of Belgrade is determined to complete the legalization process in the next five years, as per the law – Vesic said.

Under the said law, the City of Belgrade will also register annotations of all decisions passed by the construction inspection related to illegal facilities, he added.

– This means that anyone looking to buy a piece of property will know whether the city has passed the decision on the ban on construction or on the demolition of the facility, so that investors who built their property illegally would no longer be able to defraud citizens – the deputy mayor of Belgrade said.
