Tender for co-investor for “Stara Planina” Project on September 16 – interest expressed by the Dutch, Austrians and "Energoprojekt"

- Tender for selection of co-investor for construction of tourist complex "Jabučko ravnište" on Stara Planina mountain will be announced on Tuesday (September 16, 2008) – State Secretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Economy, Goran Petković, said yesterday (September 12, 2008).

He confirmed that the tender would be published in "Politika" and London’s "Financial Times". So far, one local and two foreign companies have expressed the interest.

- A company from Netherlands with a property in Germany and an Austrian company with property in several countries of Western Europe are interested, as well as Serbian company "Energoprojekt"- said Petković and added that, according to the first phase of the plan, the capacities for over 5,000 guests should be built on Stara Planina within the next three years.

In the first phase, 156m EUR will be invested in construction of catering, recreation and entertainment facilities, 50m EUR will be invested in ski centers, while 20m EUR will be spent on public utility infrastructure. Petković said that infrastructure, land, ski centers and part of future tourist facilities would stay in possession of the state.

Public invitation for selection of co-investor for construction of tourist complex "Jabučko ravnište" on Stara Planina mountain was announced on May 5, 2008, and the deadline for submission of application forms was July 1st, 2008.
