Belgrade is getting its Diplomatic Club again. Djoko Krivokapic, director of the state company Dipos, reveals this for Novosti exclusively and explains that the facility in question is the neglected and ruined building in the Oslobodjenja Blvd in Belgrade, located across from the Mladost hotel and acquired by the company four years ago.

– It was sad to see this first-class facility neglected. Diplomats in Belgrade don't have their own corner, but it will not be so for much longer. The construction of a complex of 4,500 square meters should begin by the end of the year – Krivokapic says.

Aside from tennis courts, as Krivokapic reveals, there will be much more content, from a hall for banquets, balls, music shows, a restaurant with the capacity of 400 people, through a luxurious wellness and spa center with a sauna, a gym, an exercise room, an indoor pool, to the children's playground, hairdresser's and cosmetics salons, as well as a luxury goods store.

– When a diplomat or a successful businessman comes here to relax, he will be able to bring his children along with him to be looked after in the playroom, and his wife can use the services of the beauty salon – Krivokapic says.

– Still, the most important thing is that the state will get a facility for receptions and similar events without having to rent over-expensive hotel halls, but being able to use this complex.

Dipos opened a contest for the conceptual design in cooperation with the renowned consulting company Mays this February. Seventeen works were sent and the top three were selected in June, with two works bought out. The top spot belonged to the solution sent by Dejan Miljkovic and Milos Stojkovic, along with their associates.

– We have been given a decision by the Government of Serbia and the project was included in the business plan for 2016 and 2017 – Krivokapic claims.

– We expect the main and the urban plan to be completed and the property relations to be resolved by the end of the year, following which we will need about a year to finish it all. The investment is worth EUR 5 million and is being realized with our own funds, without incurring debt.
