Silver Lake Resort at Silver Lake on the Danube – future mega tourist destination of Serbia ?

Tourist-congress and sports-recreation center of high category, near Silver Lake in Municipality of Veliko Gradište, SILVER LAKE RESORT (www.silverlake.co.yu), will occupy about 320 ha, and it will include 2 hotels, villas and suite complex, aqua park, shopping centre, golf and sports fields, swimming pools, marina, as well as the zone for entertainment, sport, recreation, health and beauty. As it has been pointed out at the presentation of the namesake Master Plan, the whole project is worth more than 50m EUR, and 7m EUR has been invested so far in the construction of new tourist pearl of Serbia – for the rental of land and infrastructure.

The whole project is the result of private initiative – the investor is company“Silver Lake Investment” from Belgrade, of which founder is NCA Investment Group led by Slobodan Vučićević, (Droga Kolinska, Grand Prom, Štark, Serbian Association of Managers...)

According to Miodrag Denić, the CEO of “Silver Lake Investment”, 4 tennis courses, 2 catering facilities with 3 outlets each and the first phase of construction of marina were completed in 2007. But, intensification of works is expected in summer 2008, when construction of the first hotel, “DanubiaParkhotel”, which will have 4 stars, will start.

As Denić pointed out, the hotel will have 180 rooms (360 beds), and expected period of construction is 18 months. The hotel complex will have surface of 20,000 square meters, and it will include restaurant with 550 seats, bar for 150 guests, spa and wellness center, beauty parlor, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, discotheque, banquet hall, conference hall, cinema, theater and parking lot for 100 cars. About 90% of rooms, as it was pointed out at the presentation, will have the view of the Danube.

Construction of the second hotel, which will have 5 stars, will start as soon as the first one is finished. It will be facing the Danube and, in addition to all the things that make one high-category hotel, it will have the ball room for big celebrations.

Construction of trade center, suites and ethno-village will start in the second half of year 2008. Elaboration of the preliminary project for construction of the complex is in progress. In this phase, there will be boutiques, discotheque, supermarket, bars with gardens, restaurant with 400seats, cafes, amphitheater for 200 guests, solemn hall, as well as 28 suites.

”SILVER LAKE RESORT“ will also encompass large golf course, to fit even the professional golfers. Its construction will also commence in 2008.

- Construction of the golf course with 18 holes is in the pipeline, but there is possibility of its widening by adding another 18-hole one . Total length of theplayground, according to the project, is 6,800 m, whereas total surface is10,500 square meters. There will also be 64 sand obstacles. Exercise groundwill have 38,000 square meters - Denić explained and added that 12 lakes shouldbe built at 16.4 ha of the playground.

By the way, in addition to the experts from “NCA Investment Group” and “SilverLake Investment”, the team responsible for implementation of the projectincludes German “Creatop“ (creators of tourist projects) and ”Krause Bohne“ (architectsand international planners).
