The cornerstone of the Hilton hotel was laid a month ago in Belgrade, on the eve of the elections. Construction begins now, as mentioned, due to complex procedures. The gates of the site of the prestigious hotel were opened for N1 television.
A month after foundation stone, it seemed works at Hilton in the center of Belgrade have not even started. As investors explain for "N1", site preparations have currently been in progress. Although construction permit was issued in February, the start of work is delayed due to complicated bureaucratic procedures, representative of investors Dragan Lazarevic explains.
The investment, totaling app. EUR 70 m, should employ about 300 people. According to representatives of investors Ilija Buturovic, in the first six months works will be done only under the ground. Contractor are mainly companies from Serbia.
Completion of works on Hilton is expected in 2018. Hotel of the famous chain will have 250 rooms and suites on eight floors in Belgrade.
