IKEA starts construction of the first department store in Belgrade - Opening in the summer 2017, 300 vacancies

Swedish furniture producer IKEA has started today construction of a department store in Belgrade. Finally, foundations of the first facility in Serbia have been placed in Bubanj Potok, 14 km from the center of the Serbian capital.

Citizens will be able to buy the first pieces of IKEA furniture at least until next year at the facility which will cover 34,000 m2. There will be a full range of about 9,500 products for home decoration at prices that will, as they say, be accessible to the citizens of Serbia. The department store will have 1,500 parking places, a restaurant for more than 500 people, a bistro and a shop of Swedish food and playroom.

Investment of IKEA in the first department store in Serbia whose construction was entrusted to STRABAG totals EUR 70 m and it will employ 300 workers.
