Romania's NEPI acquires Kragujevac Plaza for EUR 38.6 million

Kragujevac Plaza, the first and one of the biggest shopping malls and fun centers of that kind in Serbia and the Balkans has been acquired by Romanian company NEPI (New Europe Property Investments PLC), people at Kragujevac Plaza unofficially confirmed this to the daily Danas yesterday and promised that the official information about that business arrangement and plans of the new owner would be announced as soon as the management of NEPI from Romania gave their consent.
Namely, it has recently been announced on the website of NEPI that that Romanian company became the owner of Kragujevac Plaza in November 2014. It is also added that the acquisition of that shopping mall for EUR 38.6 million was just the first step of NEPI towards the conquering of the Serbian market and deepening of contacts with Serbia, which, as it is pointed out, Romanians love, but it is still insufficiently developed and offers no opportunity for investments that could be implemented. Aside from Serbia, NEPI also plans to penetrate the markets of eastern Europe.
Let us remind that the shopping mall and fun center Kragujevac Plaza was opened 20 March 2012 after several years of construction. This faciliy has a surface area of 65,000 square meters and its construction and equipping cost about EUR 60 million. Kragujevac Plaza features more than 100 stores of the most famous global and domestic brands, coffee shops, McDonald's and other restaurants, as well as fun amenities for people of all ages, including a cutting-edge cineplex with six screens.
Since its opening, Kragujevac Plaza has been visited by few million people from Sumadija, central Serbia and other parts of our country.
