Milos Marijic, Director of Sejari doo Beograd – We have been delivering the best quality commercial vehicles to clients in Serbia for 20 years

(Milos Marijic) In 1972, Mr Fajim Sejari founded the family company Sejari GmbH in the suburbs of Munich. He had an idea to offer professionally overhauled commercial vehicles to everyone, from big corporations to small purchasers. Thanks to the experience and the knowledge, the small family company turned into an international company with a constant growth.

In the early 1990s, the first branch offices opened in Slovenia and Croatia. The further strengthening and expansion followed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. Today, Sejari Holding covers the territory of the entire former Yugoslavia with products made by renowned manufacturers.

We talked to Milos Marijic, the director of Sejari doo in Serbia, about the company’s beginnings, the impact of the pandemic on their operations and the plans for the upcoming period.

– In 1987, the family company expanded into the current Sejari Kraftfahrzeuge GmbH. An increasing number of employees and a growing need for an exhibition space required a new company seat. Today, in Odelzhausen, there is a workshop on 1,500 m2 and an office space on 300 m2 on a total area of 15,000 m2.

Our company started working in Serbia exactly 20 years ago. In the markets of Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia, we are the general representative and distributor of the world-famous producer KRONE. In addition to new KRONE vehicles, we also sell used buses, trucks and other towed vehicles.

KRONE is a company that you represent in the market of Serbia. What are the advantages of their products compared to the competition?

– KRONE Group is the second biggest producer of truck trailers and semi-trailers in Europe. The group for commercial vehicles KRONE is part of Bernard Krone Holding, with the seat in Spelle, in the Emsland district.

For 110 years, quality and innovations are the principles of the KRONE corporate philosophy. It is that tradition and the working principles that set them apart from the competition from the start. The experience and the expert teams that the company has, with the implementation of the latest technologies, guarantee that, at the end, a product of extremely high quality will be produced, to the satisfaction of end-users, clients from all over the world, Serbia included.

KRONE products set new standards in terms of ecology and being economical. The world of tomorrow is the main priority, and KRONE has set high ecological goals for the future for itself.

Our company successfully represents the KRONE brand in the territory of Serbia for 19 years now. In that period, we have earned the trust of a large number of domestic purchasers thanks to the high quality of the products and the well-organized support in the procurement of the parts and the servicing of all types of KRONE vehicles.

It’s worth pointing out that KRONE is the absolute leader in the segment of new semi-trailers for the transportation of containers, with a market share of around 90%, whereas, in the segment of reefer trucks, it is second, with a market share of around 30%. We are proud to be representatives of such a large and successful company.

Although challenging, last year was successful for your company. How did you manage to overcome the challenges?

– Last year was very challenging for all industries, especially for the auto-industry. Passenger traffic was either stopped or reduced to a minimum, whereas land transport of goods greatly expanded. Considering all the new circumstances, we oriented ourselves primarily to semitrailers and reefer trucks and adapted to the demands of the market and the transporters, which eventually brought us very good results, even though the year was difficult for us all.

You also have nine successful months behind you this year as well. What do you expect for the final quarter, that is, will this year also remain successful until the end?

– As I’ve mentioned, last year, we had to reorient in our operations and adapt to the new circumstances, which started producing good results. That positive practice continued this year as well, and the results are even better. Altogether, we are very satisfied with the results in the first nine months. So far, we have delivered around 200 vehicles, of which 140 KRONE towed vehicles, which is an excellent result considering the new circumstances in the market of passenger and cargo transport.


By the end of the year, we expect a confirmation of some long-term agreements and jobs for the next year and the realization of the agreed deliveries, so this number of delivered vehicles will certainly be bigger.

Do you believe that the influence of the growing prices on the final product and the sales in the local market will be pronounced in the next period?

– The price of the final product largely depends on the price of energy sources in the global market. Considering that the prices of energy sources, such as power, gas, oil, are jumping in the past few months, it’s logical to expect our product to become more expensive too. This year, on several occasions, the price of the final product increased, but I emphasize once again that it all depends on the prices on the global level, primarily the prices of raw materials, secondary raw materials and energy sources.

What are the plans for next year, considering the global economic projections regarding the energy sources and the price of raw materials?

– It’s not realistic to set plans for next year at the moment. We have already agreed a certain quantity of semi-trailers for next year, which is planned for the production, with representatives of the KRONE factory. For the first and second quarters of 2022, we have enough trailers, and we will see for later, depending on the overall situation. We will follow the events in the global and European markets, the demand from the clients and the needs of our transporters and we will deliver the vehicles on time in line with that.

It is important to point out that we must think of the KRONE clients and supply them with vehicles in line with their plans, projections and agreement with us.
