The company Sales Manager, Folker Drenkan, therefore visited Serbia and had meetings with the representatives of Zeleznice Srbije, GSP Beograd as well as with the representatives of the Faculty of Construction, Section for roads, airports and railways.

- We are looking for new markets and Serbia is on its way to join EU community where it has a very complex Law on railways - Drenkan said for Tanjug.

He said that the company which provides technological and educational services with its own academy wants to transfer know-how technology to Serbia and to help in the inclusion in the complex railway system of Europe. Drenkan expects that Serbia will become EU member in the next five to ten years and points out that our country has a lot to do in the field of railway traffic as well as that it refers to the countries in the region as well – Montenegro, Macedonia, Croatia, etc. He pointed out that our country should reach high European railway traffic safety standards as well as that the company is specialized in all kinds of safety checks. That German company (Angewandte Eisenbahntechnik GmbH) operates in the technology for railway, rails, rail vehicles and their safety, certification, permits, various estimations, complex software solutions, staff training, students’ education, etc.

Drenkan outlined that the company can help Serbia in getting essential permits and certificates in line with EU normative.

- We offer new technologies to Serbia, i.e. railway know-how generated in Germany and Serbia as well as Germany has a long history of railways– he said.

Last year, Drenkan visited Serbia for the first time during the expert conference on infrastructure which was organized in September by the Delegation of the German economy in Serbia. That German company in Nurnberg has its own Staff training academy in the field of railway traffic, rail vehicles and all processes for the safety in that kind of traffic.

Apart from Germany, AEbt operates on other European markets as well, for instance, French, Swiss, Austrian and the Benelux countries.

- We want to help Serbian railways – Drenkman said, stating that the railway infrastructure in Serbia is in rather bad condition and that a number of things should be done since trains on some Serbian rails develop speeds of only 20 km per hour.

He reminded that the railway Corridor 10 goes through Serbia, pointing out that it is necessary to invest large portions of funds in that direction in our country.

On the other hand, Germany has good railway infrastructure and therefore trains can develop high speeds.

German AEbt is headquartered in Nurnberg with branch offices in Munich, Augsburg, Olten in Switzerland and Graz in Austria. The company’s objective is safe, sustainable and economic railway system. The company has AEbt test center with its lab and rails of 40 km/h for tests and offers different estimations for rail vehicles producers.
