Section Obrenovac – Ub to be commenced by mid July

Section Obrenovac – Ub on Belgrade – South Adria highway will commence in a month, since all the necessary conditions are fulfilled and the advance is paid to the contractor, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced on Saturday (14 June 2014).

According to the statement, Republic of Serbia paid 10 % advance out of the budget at the beginning of May 2014, which was an initial condition for money withdrawal from the loan of Chinese Exim Bank.

- An order for withdrawal of 15% of the amount was issued immediately after that, for the rest of advance in credit line. The amount was paid to ’’Shandong Hi Speed Group’’ last week, on the account of Head office in China, says the statement.

At the end of the last year, Chinese contractor commenced preparations for construction and organization on the accommodation of workers, as well as, terrain observing.

14 bridges and one traffic loop near Ub should be constructed on this 26.2 km-long section.

The contract on construction of sections Obrenovac – Ub and Lajkovac – Ljig, valued USD 333.7 million, was signed in May 2013 with Chinese company ’’Shandong Hi Speed Group’’. Credit of Chinese Exim Bank was used for construction works funding.
