Prior to end of 2007, 600 repaired cars on Serbia railways
- Company “Serbian Railways” expects that it will obtain 600 repaired and modernized freight cars prior to the end of year 2007. This company entrusted the repair to domestic repairing companies – said the General Manager of Serbian Railways Milanko Šarančić.
He expects that these companies will respect the obligations from the contract and deliver rehabilitated cars on time, concerning that fact that several repairing companies have recently been privatized or will get new owners soon.
Factory of Railway Vehicles "Goša" in Smederevska Palanka was bought in January by Slovakian company "Žos Trnava", while Italian company "Friulieksport" became the owner of "Lokomotiva" and "Vagonka", which used to operate within Niš-based MIN. Besides these factories, the repair of freight cars of Serbian Railways has also been entrusted to Smederevo-based company "Želvoz", of which privatization is expected after March.
