The aldermen of Odzaci have unanimously decided to allot a land lot in the local industrial zone to the Primar Tehno company from Maglic for the construction of bioethanol plant. According to the business plan submitted to the aldermen, this project is valued at EUR 80 million, 75 million euros of which is the required investment, while the rest is necessary to start operations.

Annual ethanol sales are expected to reach 105 million liters. Project implementation will take two years, while the business plan says the investment is expected to pay off in eight years. The project involves the construction of business facility in the Odzaci industrial zone as well as the work on internal communications and infrastructure, procurement and installation of production and storage equipment, and the acquisition of raw materials for the start of production process.

Primar Tehno, the investor, is engaged in the production of machines for the food and processing industries since 1993. The position of the industrial zone in Odzaci is what helped the investor decide to open a production facility here, in the vicinity of the Danube-Tisa-Danube Canal and the Danube River.

- In line with the need for the employment of new workers, the municipality has decided to take necessary actions to prepare for this investment. The City Assembly has already decided to allot land in the industrial zone for the construction of factory, while all other actions of the investor will be directed at the Serbian government which will be asked to allow the company to resume activities pertaining to the construction of bioethanol plant. According to the business plan submitted, the plan is to hire about 100 workers, while another 350 workers should be employed once the plant reaches its full capacity – Biljana Cekic, the deputy mayor of Odzaci, told the daily Dnevnik.
