Belgian retailer Delhaize has signed an agreement to sell 39 stores in Bosnia-Herzegovina to the Tropic group company.

Tropic group is a company founded by a respectable trader - Bojan Risovic, Reuters cited Delhaize as stating. This transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter, following an approval by regulatory bodies and the adaptation of working capital.

In southeast Europe, Delhaize operated in Greece, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria at the end of the last year. After selling its stores in Macedonia in November 2013, the company reached an agreement last month to sell its network in Bulgaria to the local company AP Mart.

The Belgian market chain also sold its stores in Montenegro and Albania last year.
