EPS turns highest profit in seven years - RSD 19 billion
The EPS now ranks second in Serbia in the amount of profit registered in 2013, right behind the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), Obradovic pointed out at a press conference in the company headquarters in Belgrade.
The company's revenue from electricity sales of RSD 200 billion in 2013 was a historic high, he said when presenting business results for the previous year.
As he explained, the new management introduced some emergency measures and instead of the projected loss of RSD 22 billion in 2013, the company managed to generate profits and avoid bankruptcy through savings and successful operations.
Last year's revenues of EPS were 12 percent bigger than in 2012, whereas expenditures dropped 15 percent or RSD 9.4 billion from 2012, he added.
He also stressed that the EPS had had a record production in 2013 totaling 37.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 2.9 billion kWh from 2012.
