NIS provides 10 percent of Serbia's budget

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic met with Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Managing Board Aleksandar Djukov on Monday.

The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) is one of the most successful companies in Serbia and the region that contributes about 10 percent of all revenues to the republic budget, it was said at the meeting between Dacic and Djukov. A total of EUR 1.5 billion have been invested in NIS to date, and the plan is to invest as much in the following period, the Government said in a release.

PM Dacic stressed that NIS had become Serbia's second largest exporter, adding that its exports in the first ten months of 2013 had grown 63 percent from the last year.

- NIS' payments to the budget of Serbia are constantly on a rise. In 2012 and the first nine months of this year, NIS paid RSD 182 billion in various taxes to the budget of Serbia, which is about 10 percent of all revenues to the republic budget - it was underlined at the meeting.

It was also assessed that NIS had additionally strengthened its market position and achieved a 15-percent growth from the previous year.
