Regional Network for favourable business environment has been established
Regional network will try to include local managements in the program of getting certification for favourable business environment in Southeastern Europe, it was explained at the International fair of local managements in Rijeka.
In this way, local managements will go through extensive administration reforms for improving procedures, stronger transparency, less paperwork and for providing all information and documents necessary to potential investors and entrepreneurs.
Regional network is formed by the National Alliance for local economic development (NALED), Center for local economic development of the Faculty of Economy in Rijeka, Network for Local economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Network of local economic development of RS, Local managements association and Macedonian Chambers of Commerce Association.
President of the Management Board of NALED, Vladan Atanasijevic, said that certification would provide safer and familiar business environment, which would make the work and investment easier.
-In the certification process, local managements must recognize and bring up their advantages, thus directing investors to improve in certain area, he said.
Atanasijevic added that one third of municipalities in Serbia had begun the process of certification and he expressed his pleasure that the governments of Croatia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina included the certification program within the ministries, as all municipalities applying for grants must have the certificate.
-Proof of the certificate's value is the fact that Financial Times included in 2012, in the list of 100 destinations for investing in Europe, five municipalities with the certificate.
All four states will have national organizations in charge of certification, but also the approval will have to be given by the Regional network which will then be a guarantee for investors that all municipalities have fulfilled in the same way the conditions of the regional standard.
The program of certification was the idea by NALED and it was first established in 2007. In Serbia, 27 local managements have obtained the certificate so far.
Two years ago, the project was expanded to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia and in June of this year first 8 regional certificates were approved to Bijelovar, Ivanca, Sanski Most, Prijedor, Pirot, Veles and Strumica.
These 8 municipalities have joint representation at this year's Fair as investment potentials, showing their advantages comparing to other municipalities without the certificate of favourable business environment.
