Nis to launch international tender for wastewater treatment - Project worth about EUR 230 million
Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic said Thursday (19 September 2013) that the city was going to launch an international tender for wastewater treatment, adding that the investment was valued at about EUR 230 million.
- After assuming the position of mayor, I was surprised how much interest companies expressed in wastewater and waste treatment - Perisic said after the session of the City Council at which a draft decision was adopted on the procedure for securing the funding, building and managing a system for collecting and processing wastewater in the territory of Nis.
Perisic noted that investors from Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium and England had expressed interest in that field, which proved it was a lucrative business.
He voiced his expectation that the funding for wastewater treatment would be provided from the EU Instrument of Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) and that the EU would most probably support this project.
