(Milutin Mrkonjic)

The Minister of Traffic, Milutin Mrkonjic, has said today that two Serbian ports will soon be offered to foreign partners, "Apatin is the first one and the second will probably be Belgrade".

- We are already preparing two ports to offer them to foreign partners, Apatin is the first one and the second will probably be Belgrade, as the collegaues have already said. I am speaking probably because foreign partners often do not want to hear their names mentioned in negotiations, therefore it is better to remain silent about that, but you should know they are very attractive for foreign investors and Apatin is already near finalization - Mrkonjic said to journalists.

When visiting the Directorate for Waterways, Plovput in Makis, Mrkonjic said that Serbia has very attractive waterways and that EU set aside EUR 300 mil for the Danube river in the upcoming period and that it must be ready to use these funds for the projects.

Mrkonjic also said that it is important to start rehabilitation of the Sava river waterway which was previously announced for September, saying that the project totals some EUR 15 mil and that the tender will most likely be released in July 19.
