Serbian Finance Minister prepares law on venture capital
Serbian Finance and Economy Ministry has started preparing a law on venture capital in order to make it possible for the economy to use more flexible sources of finance, Assistant Minister of Finance and Economy Nina Samardzic said Tuesday.
She told a press conference that venture funds posed a great opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises having an innovative idea and an exceptional potential to find more flexible sources of finance than those conventional ones.
Such venture funds operate across the European Union and countries in the region, but laws in Serbia still fail to recognize them, Samardzic said and added that the Finance Ministry expected a venture capital law to be completed by the autumn.
