Russian company SMR interested in Mining Smeltery Basin Bor

Company SMR, which operates as a part of Russian investment fund "Bazni element", has bought the tender documentation for participation in the purchase of Mining Smeltery Basin (RTB) Bor and it has also started the estimate of assets of that company.

Total incomes of group "Bazni element" in 2005 exceeded 30 billion USD, whereas the value of the assets is estimated to more than 14 billion USD.

The company that operates as a part of that group is the biggest Russian company for production of aluminum "Rusal", the owner of Podgorica-based Aluminum Combine.

According to some media from Belgrade, "Bazni element" is known as the business empire of businessman Oleg Deripask, the son-in-law of former Russian President Boris Jeljcin.
