(FBIH) Irregularity in banking system of Federation of BiH, some banks to work in compliance with Muslim religious law ?
President of Club of Croatian representatives in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Federation of BiH, Ivan Madunić, announces that Croatian representatives voted against the draft Law on Banks, which would allow introduction of Islamic banking that originates from Muslim religious law. Adoption of this law, according to representatives of Croatian nationality, would open the door to introduction of Islamic banks, in which, according to Muslim religious law, interest rates on any type of loan do not exceed 1%. In that way, unequal banking market would be created since the existing banks offer much higher interest rates. (Pregled)
