Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that the bridge across the Danube between Zemun and Borca in Belgrade and 21.5 km access roads would be completed by the end of October 2014, it was announced on the Serbian government`s website.

After touring the works in company with Transport Minister Milutin Mrkonjic and Belgrade City Assembly Speaker Aleksandar Antic, Dacic said that he was very pleased with the progress of the bridge construction and added that Chinese contractors were commended by the competent ministry and the City of Belgrade.

He pointed out that it was a very important project for further cooperation with Chinese partners in the implementation of infrastructure projects, adding that the Zemun-Borca Bridge construction and the Kostolac thermal plant revitalization were pioneering projects that should pave the way for further involvement of Chinese companies in Serbia.

The prime minister said that China`s CRBC was also interested in participating in the construction of a motorway to Montenegro.

The works on the Zemun-Borca Bridge began in late October 2011. Thirty of the planned 24 pillars have been installed so far.
