The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) signed a EUR 13 million agreement with the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) on 31 December 2012 to supply Pancevo Oil Refinery with electricity in 2013.

In addition, EPS has also concluded electricity supply agreements with the public utility company Beogradske Elektrane and Kovin Mine, the company said in a release.

After the New Year holidays, EPS will continue to sign electricity supply agreements for 2013 with all high-voltage consumers wishing to keep buying electricity from EPS in the future, reads the release.

According to the new Energy Law, all large industrial consumers will have to buy electricity in a free market as of 1 January 2013, when the electricity market liberalization will take effect for 27 such consumers.
