Government forms National Council for Economic Recovery
The Council will review the state of the economy of Serbia and prepare measures for the country's economic recovery and development.
The Council has three vice presidents and 21 members, including prominent businesspeople, bankers and economists.Vice presidents of the Council are Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic, President of the Banca Intesa Executive Board Draginja Djuric and President of the Privrednik club Branislav Grujic. The government appointed the most influential economists, bankers and businessmen as the members of the Council. Among them are professors Dragan Djuricin, Djordje Djukic, Stipe Lovreta, as well as presidents of the chambers of commerce of Serbia and Belgrade, Milos Bugarin and Milan Jankovic. There are also Jelena Krstovic of Delta Holding, Stanka Pejovic of Mercator, Nikola Pavlicic of Sintelon and Toplica Spasojevic of ITM. Aside from them, Dragoljub Vukadinovic of Metalac, Goran Percevic of Inter Komerc and Milanka Jezdimirovic of Dunav Osiguranje will also work on the recovery of Serbia. Dacic's team includes Ivica Smolic of Komercijalna Banka, Zeljko Zunic of Beohemija and Bojan Dimitrijevic, Tomica Milenkovic and Dragan Tomic of Simpo. The remaining members of the Council are bankers Slavko Caric (Erste Bank), Vladimir Cupic (Hypo Bank), Srdjan Cekic (Postal Savings Bank) and Vladan Djordjevic (AIK Banka). At yesterday's session, the government also formed the National Agrarian Council, which will be chaired by Zaharije Trnavcevic.
