Slovenians prove imagination has no limits - Why Terme Catez can plan a total of million guests annually?

The face of one of our spas is Mira Banjac while Severina promotes Slovenian spas. With all due respect to our famous actress and a doyen of Serbian, acting scene, this note of a journalist best describes where our spas are and where Slovenian ones.

And it is not that we were not ahead of the Slovenians, it is only that we stopped and the Slovenians continued developing. Terme Catez went the longest way before famous Seve decided to promote then region wide.

Terme Catez is situated between two rivers, the Sava and the Krka. They are 430 km far from Belgrade and are just near the border with Croatia. They are the leading thermal-tourist center both in Slovenia and in region. Water area of 13.000 m2, includes thermal pools, waterfalls, sledges and artificial river flows, swimming pools for kids, sauna park, as well as health center and a beauty center with different kinds of massages.

Water from eight sources, with the temperature at well is from 56 to 62 degrees, is used for water heating in swimming pools. Water in swimming pools is getting cold and varies from 28 to 34 degrees. Therefore, as well as in our spas, most of the guests were aged and the ones who came for healing and rehabilitation.

However, as Natasa Kezman from the Terme Catez management says, only 10% guests belong to this category. The rest come for fun, peaceful holiday, recreation and pleasure.

Schumacher on water wanted

Despite a bit higher prices in our conditions, it is not secret that they achieved this attendance thanks to constant investments and innovations. Thus, the Terme Catez have opened this season by opening of new, water sledge – Thermal formula, special adrenaline attraction for lovers of fast slopes.

The latest attraction at the Summer Riviera in the Catez baths is an ideal opportunity for everybody to test their competition spirit and experience unforgettable experience in a ride of a unique water formula along the long path with lots of curves, competing in couple of individually.

Competing atmosphere will last by the beginning of September. The best results will be recorded daily and winners will attend for the Great Prize of the Terme Catez, where absolutely fastest thermal formula will win the first prize – 365 entrances at the Thermal Riviera.

As of this season, probably looking up to London attraction, guests of Catez will have the opportunity to take a ride and enjoy the view from 35 meters high wheel, CATEZ EYE both during the day and at nights.

Indians and pirates already acclimatized

Maybe somebody found it funny and unreal that the idea will be successful, but the Terme Catez showed to their guests, especially to families with kids that imagination had no limits the moment they opened the Pirates Bay (completely furnished houses on water) and an Indian village. Thus, you can sleep in a spacious tent under wide sky and in the morning to practice bow and arrow.

They have recently introduced new accommodation for the Wild West fans. For all western admirers and the ones enjoyed playing western games, the choice could be stay at a real cowboy carriage (with four beds, mini kitchen and a fridge).

Profit of 35 mil EUR

This year, the Terme Catez is planning a 35 million euro, profit of 5.6 million euros and 3.1 million euros of pure profit. Their plans for 2012 include 723.000 overnight stays and almost a million swimmer entrance ticket.

Bojan Petan, General Manager of the Terme Catez said that in the following five years, they were planning to expand the tourist complex with different facilities occupying 65 hectares, for additional 30 hectares.

They are planning to pour 3.5 million euros in the expansion of the Terme hotel, expansion of the camp for 10 mobile houses, realization of energy efficiency and renovation of golf fields.

As representatives in the Terme Catez said, they have had 110.000 overnight stays in the first quarter of this year and hosted almost 160.000 swimmers while May has seen the best results in their business so far with record 63.000 swimmers and 50.000 overnight stays.
