On June 29, 2006, the management of "Meridian" bank signed the contract with the Ministry of Finance, Mlađan Dinkić, and the manager of the National Corporation of Insurance of Mortgage Loans, Aleksandar Jović, on participation of that bank in the program for subsidizing residential credits to citizens of Serbia younger than 45.

On that occasion, Dinkić said that "Meridian" bank became the 16th financial institution that signed such contract with the National Corporation, which had insured mortgage loans worth about €100m, whereby about 3,600 credits had been insured by the Government of Serbia

Dinkić greeted the initiative of "Meridian" bank and announced that, according to the national investment plan, which should be adopted by the end of July, about €150m would be invested during the following year, from privatization incomes, into the construction of apartments for employees in the public sector. He added that the domestic banks would be asked for support in crediting of those apartments with best possible terms for those who work for the police, in the army, education sector, culture and other public services.
