"American express" again in Serbia - "Banca Intesa" issues famous debit card in Serbia starting May 8, 2006

Director general of "Banca Intesa", Draginja Đurić, announced that that bank would start issuing "American express" debit cards in Serbia on May 8, 2006, after a 20-year break.

Đurić reminded that "Banca Intesa" had signed exclusive contract with "American Express" in November 2005, according to which that bank was to issued the most prestigious debit card in the world. Assistant to the bank director, Dejan Tešić, stated that the bank would issue both "American express green" and "American express gold" kards and he explained that both of them were revolving credit cards that required payment of only 3% of debt on monthly basis, which was the best offer on Serbian market at the moment.

All citizens who want to apply for one of these two cards do not have to be the clients of "Banca Intesa". Also, neither downpayment is needed, nor endorsers, but only ID card. Annual fee for use of that card is 2,200 CSD.
