Belgrade Zoo to Be Moved to Ada Ciganlija?

The Belgrade Zoo might be moved from Kalemegdan to Ada Safari within Ada Ciganlija.

The City Administration has announced that the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, and the main city urban planner, Marko Stojcic, will visit Ada Safari tomorrow and that, on that occasion, Sapic will talk about the plan and the new location to which the Zoo is to be moved.

A mini zoo is already present within the complex on the Ada Safari lake.

Belgrade Zoo, also known as the Garden of Good Hope, has been located for decades in the Mali Kalemegdan area within the Belgrade Fortress since it opened in 1936, but for years now there has been talk about the necessity of its moving from the city center, and the Veliko Blato lake in Borca and Surcin have been mentioned as potential new locations.
