Elektromreza Srbije Also Wants to Produce Electricity for Own Consumption
EMS has opened the public invitation for the preparation of Study of the Analysis of the Calculation of Production from Renewable Sources for the Purpose of Own Consumption.
The study should help EMS implement the concept of zero consumption buildings, along with the promotion of renewable energy sources, which should result in the reduction of costs for the powering of the own consumption of transformer stations, says the public invitation.
The company says in the public invitation that it has 48 transformer stations and switchgears which spend energy for own needs in the amount of 21,500 MWh a year in total. As they said, EMS procures this energy at the market, which reached its historic maximum in 2022.
EMS estimates that the high prices of electricity in the market are not a temporary disturbance and that a return to the energy prices from several years ago, that is, from before the energy crisis, will not be possible. That is why energy saving is necessary, as is the seeking of new ways to minimize and optimize consumption portfolios wherever possible, EMS says.
