Air Protection Program in Serbia Until 2030 with Action Plan Adopted
According to the website of the Government of Serbia, the country has gotten a strategic document for the field of air protection for the first time, whose implementation will require investments of EUR 2.6 billion in the coming years.
The objectives of the program will be achieved through the reduction of emissions from various sectors, such as energy, stationary combustion plants, transport, large industrial plants and agriculture, but also with the connection, cooperation and participation of institutions, businesses and citizens.
The program also defines measures and activities which will help local self-government units in the further development of air quality plans, short-term action plans and local monitoring plans.
Some of the envisaged measures will enable a quicker replacement of old heating devices in households and the renewal of rolling stocks through deregistration, that is, by sending the oldest Euro 1, 2 and 3 diesel passenger vehicles and light cargo vehicles, as well as Euro 1, 2 and 3 diesel buses, to recycling centers.
The program also envisages the realization of activities which pertain to education, training for the implementation of the best practices and raising awareness, to the end of establishing a consensus on the importance of changing habits and all members of the social community contributing to this field, says the website of the government.
