The navigability of rivers and the supply of coal for the energy sector, as well as the necessary raw materials for the industry, have become issues of primary importance for all countries in Europe, including Serbia. In line with that, in the coming period, the Government of Serbia will find a way to further strengthen the fleet of Jugoslovensko recno brodarstvo (JRB), stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic.

During the meeting with the executive director of JRB, Mladen Grujic, Momirovic said that the energy crisis, the biggest one in the past 70 years, best showed all the advantages and importance of river transport for the supply of energy, primarily coal.

– With the help of JRB, rail and road transport, we will manage to secure the supply – he said.

At said meeting, Grujic informed the minister about the company’s operations and about their engagement in the transport of coal for the needs of Serbia, as reported on the website of the Government of Serbia.
