Ministry of Environmental Protection Authorizes Construction of 2nd Section of Danube Corridor
According to the decision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection which was adopted in mid-July, during the public review, there were no opinions submitted by interested organs, organizations or the public.
As announced by the Government of Serbia in June, on the first part of the fast route, 23 km long, works are currently being done on a length of 5.5 kilometers, on the section from Veliko Gradiste to Golubac the most intensive works are being done on a length of 15 kilometers, whereas the intensification of the works on the section from Pozarevac to Veliko Gradiste is expected soon, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced at the time.
The director of the Corridors of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic said, while visiting the site, that, on the first part of the section, 70% of the expropriation issue had been solved, that 60% had been solved on the second part, whereas, on the third part, 90% of the expropriation procedures had been finished.
Let us remind that the works on the construction of the Danube Corridor began in November last year.
Upon the completion of the works, the fast route, which is 67 kilometers long, will have two lanes in each direction.
The project is worth EUR 305 million, and the contractor is the Chinese company Shandong Hi Speed Group.
According to the most recent announcements, the works will be completed by mid-2025.
