The first international wine fair Open Balkans Wine Vision will be held at the Belgrade Fair from September 1 to 4, 2022. The fair is organized under the aegis of the governments of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, within the Open Balkans initiative.

The Open Balkans Wine Vision will gather, in one place, masters of production of the best wines and promote the Balkans as a tourist destination, its geography and richness of the varieties.

At the Belgrade Fair, within said event, over 332 exhibitors from 22 countries are expected to attend. A total of 160 exhibitors from Serbia, 26 from Albania and 47 from North Macedonia will present themselves. In addition to the member-countries of the Open Balkans, there will also be exhibitors from Croatia, Montenegro, France, Chile, Argentina, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries.

On September 1, the Open Balkans Wine Vision will be officially opened by the president of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the prime ministers of North Macedonia and Albania, Dimitar Kovacevski and Edi Rama, whereas the Leaders’ Summit is planned for September 2.

During the fair, the visitors will have the opportunity to visit various thematically defined halls. Also, the visitors will be able to educate themselves and learn everything they want to know about the history and the origin of wine, the process of production, the varieties of wine, the consumption and, of course, to taste and buy some of the most beautiful wines of the Balkans region and the world.

An integral part of the Open Balkans Wine Vision will be business meetings between wine exhibitors, representatives of the leading retail store chains and representatives of the HORECA industry. It will also be an opportunity for all exhibitors to further upgrade the cooperation, to network the regional wine and related industries, as well as to strengthen business partnerships and contacts. Furthermore, during the Open Balkans Wine Vision, the Food Show will be held as well, which will present all the most famous gastronomic specialties from this part of Europe.

During the four-day event, the international wine rating event Open Balkans Wine Trophy will be organized. The wines will be rated by 25 international wine judges from the whole world, with as many as five carriers of the “Master of Wine” title, the most prestigious title in the world of wine, among them.
