In the next year, banks in Serbia will not be increasing the prices of fees and commissions, stated the governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

At a press conference, she confirmed that all the banks in Serbia had agreed with that decision.

– The banks which have raised their fees and commissions since January 1, 2021, have agreed to charge those fees and commissions with a 30% reduction, but not below the amount that applied before the increase, from September 1 – Tabakovic said.

The NBS Executive Board, she said, today also adopted the decision on the payment account with the basic payment services.

– For citizens, the monthly cost of the maintenance of dinar current accounts will be RSD 150, they will be able to withdraw cash at their bank’s counters and ATMs for free, and they will also have a debit card for free – Tabakovic said.

The package will include mobile and electronic banking and an unlimited number of transactions by QR code at points of sale.

The banks which charge payment orders through mobile and electronic banking will calculate a 30% discount relative to the amount of those fees and commissions.
