The border crossing Kotroman between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was opened today, following a reconstruction in which over EUR 4.6 million was invested.

For the works, which took three years, EUR 2.1 million was secured from the EU pre-accession funds, and slightly over EUR 2.5 million was secured through national co-financing through the Customs Administration for the first phase and the Property Directorate of the Republic of Serbia for the second phase of the construction.

The project is part of a wider cooperation of Serbia and the EU in the field of integrated border management.

The new border crossing Kotroman features three traffic lanes at the entrance to Serbia and three at the exit, which will considerably accelerate the traffic, but also the flow of goods, the Customs Administration announced.

As said, the shortest way to Boka Kotorska goes through the border crossing Kotroman, so many passengers are expected to choose that route toward the seaside as soon as during the upcoming season, which will help unload the busiest crossing toward the Montenegrin seaside, the border crossing Gostun, which is currently being reconstructed.
