The works on the part of the bypass route around Belgrade from the Orlovaca interchange to the Strazevica tunnel have been completed and the left lane of that section will open to traffic tonight. The section is around 4 km long and three bridges and the left tunnel tube beneath the Strazevica hill, 760 meters long, have been completed.

The construction of the section of the bypass route from the Strazevica tunnel to Bubanj Potok is in progress, and the main contractors are the Chinese company Powerchina and the Azerbaijani Azvirt.

The entire bypass route around Belgrade from the new bridge on the Sava near Ostruznica to Bubanj Potok is 20.4 km long and should be completed in March 2023.

The value of the works is EUR 207 million, of which 15% is secured from the budget of Serbia, and the remaining 85% is a loan from the Chinese Exim Bank.

The bypass route was visited by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who said that “at the moment, 547 kilometers of highways, fast routes and bypass routes are being built”.

The completion of the bypass route, he said, is expected in late March 2023.
