Government Temporarily Limits Price of Gas

The Government of Serbia adopted the Decree on the temporary measure of limiting the price of gas and compensating for differences in the price of natural gas procured from imports or produced in the Republic of Serbia in the event of disturbances on the natural gas market.

The Decree aims to mitigate the consequences of the natural gas price jump and the consequences of the energy crisis, to the end of protecting the economy and the citizens who need to use this energy source, the Government says in an announcement.

– In order to secure a normal supply of all consumers with natural gas, it is necessary to secure the right to the compensation for the difference in the price of natural gas procured from imports and the price of natural gas from imports that was used for the calculation of the price for the further sale to suppliers, public suppliers and end-users for November 2021 – the announcement says.

Also, it is added, it is necessary to secure the right to the compensation for the difference in the current price of natural gas produced in Serbia compared to the same month in 2021.
