CLS: New Main Bus Station in New Belgrade Not to Be Built This Year Either
– At the moment, no works are being done at all, because the initial budget of EUR 21 million has been exceeded, and the station is nowhere close to being completed. BAS is therefore forced to take out another two commercial loans, and according to the calculation of CLS, the new bus station will eventually cost around EUR 42 million – said the director of CLS, Nikola Jovanovic.
He added that “since the beginning, CLS has been criticizing the agreement between the City and BAS from 2017 on the construction of the new bus station, because it is not clear why it is BAS that has been chosen as the strategic partner, without a tender or an estimate of their capacity for this kind of a strategic project”.
– The exclusive culprits for the disaster regarding the moving of the main bus station to New Belgrade are the leaving deputy mayor, Goran Vesic, and the director of BAS, Andjelko Mucibabic, because the model of the construction, the financial structure and the choice of the contractor are all entirely wrong – Jovanovic said.
