Agriculturists: Spring Sowing in Serbia Jeopardized Due to Ban on Export of Grains
– Farmers are angry, because the administrative measure on the ban has fully blocked the internal flow of goods and brought down the prices of corn and wheat, so it is impossible to secure the money for the spring sowing. We are requesting an urgent removal of that measure, say the associations “Pancevacki ratari”, “Agrarni forum Pancevo” and “Gradjanska neposlusnost Dolovo”.
They pointed out that, due to this, only the most quality soil should be used, whereas other parcels should be left to “rest, like the Germans do every four or five years”.
– This harmful regime has created chaos ahead of the sowing and banned the exports, and it hasn’t even bought at least 200,000 to 400,000 tons for the goods reserves, as used to be done – the press release says.
They add that the farmers in Vojvodina are affected the most, as they are “export-oriented”.
