Construction of First Two Units of Linear Park to Begin Next Week – Tender to Be Published for Remaining Eight
– It will take us three years to complete the Linear Park, because there’s a number of illegal and legal facilities which we will have to remove, as well as the old rail tracks. When we finish the Linear Park, we will have a unique park in the world along the river coasts, 4.6 kilometers long – Vesic said, as reported by Beoinfo.
The development of the first two units, according to him, will be carried out by the PUE Zelenilo-Beograd.
– This is the stretch between Beton Hala, through the Nebojsa Tower, to the Sports Center “25. maj – Milan Gale Muskatirovic”, and the construction of that part is to start at the beginning of next week. For the other eight units of the Linear Park, the Secretariat for Investments will open the public procurement procedure for the designing and the execution of the works. I expect the works in the other eight units to start in the summer months – said the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic.
He reminded that the Linear Park had been designed by young local architects and that it was planned not to have permanent features, but features that can be altered relative to the time and the season when events and cultural activities take place.
– There will be sports activities, temporary commercial features, amphitheaters and over a hundred other features. We have also secured a space for parking, and it is especially interesting that we will plant therapeutic plants, which is a contemporary trend in the world – said the deputy mayor of Belgrade.
According to him, with the development of the Linear Park, Belgrade will get 4.6 kilometers of green areas.
